The consortium led by the company CITUS, with partners the Faculty of Kinesiology, University of Zagreb, and the Faculty of Maritime Studies, University of Rijeka, after the project’s start on April 1, 2026, and intensive preparations and work on the project, officially presented the project and began implementing the research and development project IRI S3 (Increasing the development of new products and services arising from research and development activities) entitled “Personalized motion detection, analysis and correction using artificial intelligence methods”, on July 1, 2026.
This project brings together experts from various fields and is an excellent example of interdisciplinary cooperation between the business and academic communities in developing innovative solutions for everyday use. Through intensive collaboration between business experts and scientists, the consortium will develop a solution over the next 36 months that will raise the technology readiness level (TRL) from industrial research to commercial readiness.
This ambitious project focuses on tracking human body poses, which form the foundation for more complex forms such as movement. The project is based on the understanding that movement can be depicted and analyzed as a series of consecutive poses. Adding elements related to movement (e.g., time/speed, changes in direction, ranges of measurement deviations, etc.) enables rigorous, analytical monitoring of the execution of each movement. This innovative approach promises significantly more advanced movement-tracking capabilities and applications in various fields such as medicine, sports, fitness, and the like. The main impact of the results of this project is the contribution to the health of its users, who, through the use of the newly created platform, will be able to qualitatively improve their habits that contribute to physical activity or recovery from injuries, because the solution will be personalized for each person and tailored to that person.
The project is co-financed through the IRI S3 research and development project support program. The total value of the project is EUR 1,064,819.07. The partners’ share of the total value is EUR 403,763.73, or 37.9 percent.
